台南市警局人員表示，警方懷疑蔡男涉犯學甲槍擊案，今天傍晚在新北市新莊區拘提到案，正押返台南，但蔡男在此案擔任何種角色，涉案程度有多深，有待偵訊釐清。
台南學甲槍擊案發生於九合一選舉前的11月10日凌晨，槍手孔祥志向學甲區頂山寮一家科技公司開了58槍，再向謝姓市議員競選總部鐵門掃射30槍，南檢已發布通緝；負責策畫指揮及供槍的楊姓男子、共犯李姓男子、郭姓男子等3人已被收押，同是指揮層級的綽號「紅龜」洪政軍也遭通緝。
